Database Migration Consultant (SQL Anywhere → PostgreSQL)

Overview

Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced Database Migration Consultant to lead the end-to-end migration from SAP SQL Anywhere to PostgreSQL. This role carries full ownership of migration quality, including schema modernization, data accuracy, performance optimization, and production-grade validation. The consultant will work closely with development teams to ensure seamless integration with GeoGraphix applications and supporting frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and understand the existing SAP SQL Anywhere database architecture and schema, including integrations with GeoGraphix applications.
• Migrate SQL Anywhere–specific proprietary constructs to ANSI SQL compatible with PostgreSQL.
• Modernize and optimize database schemas by removing trivial views and triggers, and tuning tables, indexes, and constraints for PostgreSQL performance.
