Custodian (Multiple Positions- All Shifts)

General Description

Under general supervision, performs a variety of custodial and manual duties that involve heavy lifting, and use of heavy power equipment. Duties are related to the general appearance and cleanliness of both the interior and immediate exterior of the college buildings and facilities. The primary and most important overall responsibility of all is to provide service in a pleasant, helpful, and effective manner to our students and other members of the college community Characteristics, Duties, and Responsibilities • Sweeps and/or vacuums floors, carpets, hallways and stairwells. Mops, scrubs, waxes and polishes floor surfaces using heavy-duty powered equipment. Performs necessary service and preventive maintenance such as cleaning and oiling equipment, to prevent breakdown and insure effective and efficient operation.

• Vacuum cleans carpets, drapes, and walls using chemicals and cleaning solutions as required.
