Contact Lens Fitter

Job Summary:

The Contact Lens Fitter is responsible for the fitting of all soft and gas permeable contact lenses, ordering and delivery of contact lenses. The Contact Lens Fitter is also responsible for adhering to current departmental polices and procedures.

Essential Responsibilities:



+ Upholds Kaiser Permanentes Policies and Procedures, Principles of Responsibilities and applicable state, federal and local laws. Instruct patient on all aspects of lens wear through verbal and written instructions and hands on ( insertion and removal) practice. Explain contact lens fees, refund policies and lens replacement agreements to patients. Measuring of corneal curvature (using keratometer) and pupil aperture for correct lens specifications. Observe patients eye (using slit lamp) for pathological conditions and refer to ophthalmologist or optometrist for treatment.
