About the Service

Waikato Hospital hosts one of NewZealand’s largest renal services. It comprises an inpatient renal ward, an acute dialysis unit and the recently commissioned Midland Regional Renal Centre. The service delivers all aspects of renal medicine—excluding acute kidney transplantation—while promoting a strong home‑based treatment philosophy.
