Applications for a part‑time (5 sessions) substantive Consultant Paediatric Intensivist with potential additional locum consultant post at the University Hospital of Wales, Cardiff.

Main duties of the job

• Provide specialised PICU services in collaboration with Consultant colleagues, with responsibility for prevention, diagnosis, treatment of illness and promotion of health.


• Have continuing responsibility for the care of patients in your charge and liaise with Consultant colleagues; ensure proper functioning of the department in line with operational and strategic plans.


• Supervise junior medical staff; be responsible for overseeing their training and initial career advice.


• Participate in continuing medical education as required by the Chief Executive.


• Participate in and contribute to Clinical Audit.
