Consultant - Gastroenterology

To provide specialized services to patients for the diagnosis and management of diseases of the digestive tract.

• Perform the professional duties of a gastroenterologist in accordance with the delineation of privileges as recommended and approved by the Credentials Committee.
• Conduct assessment and re-assessment for all patients in the OPD on admission and prior to any procedure.
• Perform duties in the G I Clinic, evaluating patients with G I diseases.
• Perform G I procedures – upper and lower G I endoscopies, liver biopsies, E R C P esophageal motility studies.
• Provide consultation referral services to the inpatient services in the area of expertise.
• Provide after working hours on call emergency coverage for G I emergencies.
• Provide supervision and education to the endoscopy staff, nurses and technicians.
• Participates and contributes to all the quality assurance activities of the service...
