Construction Inspector

$23.43 - $28.11 per hour PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Reviews plans and specifications of construction projects; attends preconstruction meetings as required.


• Inspects public improvement construction including streets, sidewalks, water, wastewater, drainage infrastructure and other associated civil construction and certain private civil construction improvements for compliance with city ordinances and standards, state and federal regulations and specifications.
• Performs field inspections to evaluate the work performed and materials used; verifies quality of workmanship, quality of materials used and compliance with plans and specifications.
• Ensures the protection of city assets and property.
• Reads blueprints and review construction drawings for accuracy.
• Mark up construction drawings with field changes to allow for accurate Record Drawings to be created.
