Vacancy: CONSERVATION MANAGER

Area: Mbombela/Nelspruit, Mpumalanga

Requirements:

• Master’s degree in applied ecology, environmental science, conservation biology/related field

• PhD will be an advantage

• 8+ years of experience in conservation management, in a similar position

• Experience in veld management, ecological restoration, research programmes and wildlife management in a ‘Big 5’ conservation

• Strong knowledge of South African ecosystems and biodiversity

• Solid grasp of the statutory requirements in terms of protected area management, formal assessments, the development of annual work plans and the submission of reports

• Experience in ecological research and data analysis

• Excellent communication in English, Afrikaans and Shangaan (advantageous)
