Computed Tomography (CT) Technologist

Under the administrative direction of the Director Radiology Services, and the clinical direction of the Radiologists, is responsible for performing all Computed Tomography procedures. Performs all scheduled and emergency CT procedures as assigned by the CT Supervisor, which include: Instructions to the patient about the procedure. Transferring patient to scan room and positioning patient for procedure. Assists in surgical biopsy and aspiration procedures. Selects proper scanning techniques and completes scans. Reconstructs all images, noting any and all abnormalities, being able to delineate any and all abnormalities, having a broad knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy. Recognizes system problems and notifies CT Supervisor, Radiation Safety Officer, and Radiologist. Practices safety rules in respect to electrical and radiation hazards.
