Compliance Officer / Senior Compliance Officer – Biosecurity – Otago Regional Council – Queenstown

We are looking for Compliance Officer/Senior Compliance Officer – Biosecurity to join our Environmental Implementation team on permanent, full-time, (37.5 hours per week) basis, in our Queenstown office.

We welcome all skill levels, both entry level and senior experience, with details covered below for what the team is after. In this role you will play a key role in setting and upholding compliance expectations across the region.

The purpose of this position is to lead and deliver high quality, legally robust, and technically sound biosecurity compliance services on behalf of the Otago Regional Council. This role operates under the legislative framework of the Biosecurity Act 1993 and the Otago Regional Pest Management Plan, with a clear mandate to uphold and enforce the Council’s statutory responsibilities in a way that protects Otago’s environment, biodiversity, economy and communities.
