A full-time GIS Analyst position is available with the Information Systems team in Comox Valley, starting July 2026. This role involves GIS database management and provides valuable mapping expertise.
You will be employed for a term of up to 18 months, focusing on land use and environmental planning through developing, modifying, and analyzing GIS applications. Your role will include training staff and external consultants, ensuring effective GIS technology use while facilitating their understanding of mapping products.
Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct spatial analysis and integrate data from multiple sources
• Research and update geographic database records
• Create analysis methodologies for inter-organizational data
• Maintain utility and fibre optic conduit layers
• Respond to inquiries about geographic and mapping matters
