About the role:

A SEND primary school in Grantham is seeking a full‑time Communications Assistant to support pupils with speech, language and communication needs. The role involves working 1:1 and in small groups to build expressive and receptive language skills.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver speech and language‑based activities to develop vocabulary, comprehension and communication confidence.
• Use visual tools, PECs, Makaton or symbol‑based systems to support understanding.
• Record progress and work collaboratively with speech and language therapists.
• Support pupils’ social communication during playtime, group work and structured learning.
• Encourage positive peer interactions through modelling and guided activities.
