Job Description

                Job Summary  
Under general supervision, codes and abstracts clinical information from the electronic patient record. Assigns appropriate ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS codes as appropriate. 
Qualifications  
Education 
Required High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent  
 
Experience: Required One to three years of experience in Medical Coding  
 
Certification/Licensure: Required Certified Coding Associate (CCA) Must be obtained before hire date  
  
 Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) Must be obtained before hire date  
 
Registered Health Information Technologist (RHIT) Must be obtained before hire date  
 
Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) Must be obtained before hire date
