Clinical Unit Manager

Responsibilities

• Lead a specific area of the care home, delivering the highest level of care.
• Run the unit when the Home Manager and Deputy Home Manager are absent.
• Report resident issues such as mobility problems, collect monitoring samples, and administer medication, always prioritising resident dignity and wellbeing.
• Mentor and support colleagues, acting as a practice supervisor and assessor to students.
• Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, and model professional behaviours.
• Advocate for a person‑centred approach to care for residents and their families.
• Safeguard residents by recognising signs of abuse, harm or neglect, reporting concerns, and ensuring appropriate action is taken.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse with a valid NMC PIN.
• Commitment to the standards of practice set by the Nursing and Midwifery Council.
