The Senior Pacing Physiologist (Band 6) is an experienced cardiac physiologist responsible for the delivery of a comprehensive pacing service, including the assessment, follow‑up, and optimisation of patients with implanted cardiac rhythm management devices. The post holder works autonomously within their scope of practice, providing expert clinical care while supporting service development, governance, and the training of junior staff.

Responsibilities

• Independently analyse and report ambulatory ECG recordings, event monitors, BP monitors, and ILRs
• Perform and report a range of cardiac diagnostic investigations, including exercise tolerance tests, haemodynamic monitoring in the cath lab, pacemaker follow‑up, and device implantation support
• Undertake complex device follow‑ups following appropriate training and supervision
