:The Sterile Processing Technician PRN is an experienced professional who works under minimal supervision to clean, decontaminate, assemble, package, and sterilize surgical instrumentation and reusable supply items.
Essential Responsibilities:
Assembles and wraps instrument sets.
Ensures proper use of sterilized sonic cleaners and other related equipment.
Delivers surgical instruments on a timely basis.
Thoroughly inspects instruments to ensure all instruments are clean and in good repair/working order prior to sterilization process.
Decontaminates instruments using proper chemical mixtures and procedures.
Tests, operates, and loads autoclaves.
Participates in the routine cleaning and decontamination of all department work surfaces.
Completes sterilization log sheets.
