Catering Laundry Instructor - Christchurch Men's Prison

Overview

Full‑time, permanent role at Christchurch Men's Prison. The positions supports prisoners by providing meaningful work experience, training and skill development in a commercial kitchen and laundry environment. The aim is to equip residents with qualifications, work habits and confidence for successful re‑entry into the community.

Responsibilities

• Directly supervise and provide practical training to prisoners in a commercial kitchen setting, preparing and delivering approximately 900 meals three times daily.
• Support the laundry operation as part of the Internal Services team.
• Facilitate informal and formal learning experiences to enable prisoners to attain NZQA qualifications.
• Maintain high health and safety standards, documenting incidents and ensuring compliance with all relevant policies.
