Catering Assistant

Overview

The overall purpose of the job is to work as part of a team and be committed to providing the best quality catering service to patients and staff within the Trust.

Main duties of the job

Department working hours are predominantly between 7.00am to 19.00pm, which will involve some weekend work and various shift patterns including early and late shifts as the service requires. The pay rate will increase for all hours worked on a Saturday and Sunday and Bank Holidays.

Responsibilities

• Support the delivery of high‑quality catering services to patients and staff.
• Collaborate with the team to share best practice and adapt services as needs evolve.
• Prepare and serve food in the kitchen and at ward level, maintaining food safety and hygiene standards.
• Work flexibly and take initiative to meet service demands, including early, late and weekend shifts.
