Description

&Access (RDA) and Machine-Readable Cataloging (MARC) components of OCLC. Effective oral and written communication skills; ability toinitiateand maintain effective working relationships. Knowledge of library and standard office software programs.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Provides original and copy bibliographic cataloging to library materials that conforms to national standards as specified by RDA and Library of Congress (LC) classification, making effective use of cataloging tools such as OCLCConnexion, MARC Edit, Cataloging Distribution Service (CDS) Classification Web andSirsiDynixWorkflows.

2. Classify using the LC classification or other mandated systems and construct call numbers for materials added to the libraries’ collections.

3. Assigns metadata for digitized materials adhering to best practice and national standards for digital collections.
