General Description

A Cashier is responsible for handling customer transactions accurately and efficiently while providing good customer service.

Responsibilities

• Process all cash transactions accurately and efficiently in accordance with established policies and procedures.
• Greet customers when entering or leaving establishments.
• Handle cash transactions with customers using cash registers.
• Issue receipts, summary bill, itemized bill, refund note, etc.
• Resolve customer complaints, guide them and provide relevant information.
• Maintain clean and tidy checkout areas.
• Keep reports of transactions.
• Communicate with others in a polite and professional manner.
• Count money in cash drawers at the beginning and end of shifts to ensure accurate amounts and adequate change available during the work shift, compute and record totals of transactions.
