Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (CIS) - Cardiac Cath Lab (CCL)

A Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (CIS) Clinician 1 is an entry-level professional in the Cardiac Cath or Electrophysiology (EP) Lab, focused primarily on developing knowledge and skills. Provides safe patient care at a basic level and shows growth in ability to care for increasingly complex patients in the role of scrub and circulator in sterile cardiac procedures. Requires consultation with more experienced clinicians and benefits from feedback.

This position supports the Cardiac Cath Lab. UVA operates five Cardiac catheterization labs. Each unit operates independently of one another. The Cath lab CIS cares for patients undergoing coronary angiograms, diagnostic and interventional coronary interventions, right heart catheterizations, structural heart cases, peripheral cases, ventricular support devices, and/or pediatric diagnostic and interventions cases.
