Buying and Merchandising Manager

The Category Merchandising Manager is a vital role in forecasting, buying, and allocating items for our various Retail Affiliates. You will be responsible in conceptualizing merchandising strategies to achieve sales, assorting goals and margin standards at an optimum inventory level. You’ll also engage in supplier negotiations, product development, explore new trends and sources for new suppliers and present your strategies to top management.

Job Responsibilities:

• Supervises buying and duties of merchandise assistants.
• Forecasts departmental sales and margin goals.
• Develops merchandise strategy for the department thus achieving sales and assortment goals margin standards at minimum inventory and markdown.
• Controls open-to-buy, stock level and deliveries to stay within plans thus increasing turnover.
• Negotiates with vendors for affordable costs, terms, and discounts.
