About The Branch
The Building Safety and Standards Branch ensures that the structures in which we live, work and play are safely constructed. The branch develops, interprets, administers, and enforces building, plumbing, electrical and mechanical standards. It also works with the City of Whitehorse to develop shared inspection standards that contribute to safer dwellings, workplaces and public spaces. Skilled safety inspectors conduct a variety of inspections, including building, electrical, plumbing, oil heating, wood stove, boiler, elevator, and gas.
About The Job
Reporting to the Chief Building Inspector, this position is responsible for conducting fuel oil installation inspections and performing building/plumbing inspections on construction projects throughout Yukon (excluding the City of Whitehorse).
