Job Description
NewsChannel 9 (WSYR-TV), located in East Syracuse, New York, has an immediate opening for a Broadcast Engineer. The Broadcast Engineer installs, operates, maintains, updates and repairs all broadcast and technology-related equipment within the facility.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
+ Maintain all broadcast technology and equipment for the station.
+ Install, set up and configure broadcast, server and computer equipment.
+ Cable, connect, and configure technical infrastructure equipment for the station.
+ Setup and operate equipment and transmission links during live remote broadcasts.
+ Maintains satellite and microwave live trucks. Trains live truck operators.
+ Communicates with members of the Engineering/I.T. team and other departments to effectively resolve equipment and system issues.
+ Ability to read signal flow drawings and trouble shoot problems quickly.
