Job Description

NewsChannel 9 (WSYR-TV), located in East Syracuse, New York, has an immediate opening for a Broadcast Engineer.The Broadcast Engineer installs, operates, maintains, updates and repairs all broadcast and technology-related equipment within the facility.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Maintain all broadcast technology and equipment for the station.
Install, set up and configure broadcast, server and computer equipment.
Cable, connect, and configure technical infrastructure equipment for the station.
Setup and operate equipment and transmission links during live remote broadcasts.
Maintains satellite and microwave live trucks. Trains live truck operators.
Communicates with members of the Engineering/I.T. team and other departments to effectively resolve equipment and system issues.
Ability to read signal flow drawings and trouble shoot problems quickly.
Performs other duties as assigned.
