TNFC BOARD of DIRECTOR
Position Title: Board Director
Term: (Insert Term Length – e.g., 2 years, renewable)
Accountability: Accountable to the Members / Community of the Friendship Centre.
Purpose of the Role
The Board Director serves as a fiduciary of the Friendship Centre and contributes to the overall governance, strategic direction, and policy development of the organization. Directors act in accordance with the Ontario Not-for-Profit Corporations Act (ONCA) and uphold the mission, vision, and values of the Friendship Centre and the OFIFC Code of Ethics.
Core Responsibilities
- Governance & Strategic Oversight
- Participate in setting the vision, mission, and strategic priorities of the Centre.
- Develop, review, and approve policies.
- Ensure alignment with OFIFC membership expectations and agreements.
- Avoid involvement in day-to-day management (policy board model).
