Behaviour Support Assistant

A primary school in Sunderland is looking for a Behaviour Support Assistant who is passionate about making a difference in pupils’ lives.

The successful Behaviour Support Assistant will be working within KS1 to provide 1:1 and group support for pupils who are showcasing challenging behaviour. The role combines teaching and learning with a behavioural approach. You will need to be able to demonstrate the ability to easily form positive working relationships with challenging pupils and will be enthusiastic, passionate and tenacious.

Behaviour Support Assistant roles and responsibilities:

• Provide pastoral support to pupils.
• Receive and supervise pupils excluded from, or otherwise not working to, a normal timetable.
• Attend to pupils’ personal needs and provide advice to assist in their social, health & hygiene development.
• Participate in comprehensive assessment of pupils to determine those in need of particular help.
