Aviation Safety Inspector (Air Carrier Maintenance)

Summary This position is in the Aircraft Evaluation Division, AFS-110. Responsible for applying expert knowledge of and experience with Title 14 of the Code of Federal Regulations (14 CFR) for the development and implementation of standards, programs, and procedures for FAA field personnel and the public governing all matters related to maintenance safety issues. Responsibilities Plays a vital role in the promotion of flight safety in the maintenance procedures developed for aircraft inspection, servicing, and overhaul that will affect maintenance programs for operators utilizing aircraft built by the assigned manufacturer. The work of this position has-significant impact on the entire industry. The incumbent must possess a high degree of competence in the various segments of aircraft maintenance and a thorough and current knowledge of the techniques and philosophies responsible for achieving continued airworthiness.
