Job Description - Athletic Trainer - PRN ) Job Description Athletic Trainer - PRN - Description The Sports Medicine Athletic Trainer is a licensed or certified worker who performs athletic trainer duties essential to the operation of the Sports Medicine clinic and outreach programs. The Athletic Trainer (ATC) is a licensed professional who evaluates student athletes/patients; refers to appropriate healthcare providers; plans and implements treatment plans based on the evaluation, and educates patients, families and staff. He/She exercises initiative and judgement in referring appropriate patients to other personnel and reevaluates and modifies treatment programs as necessary. He/She performs appropriate administrative duties, such as treatment notes/logs, referral tracking, and participates in educational programs as assigned or approved by the Director/Manager of Sports Medicine.
