**Role Summary:** The Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC) is an ancillary health care provider, principle member of the sports medicine team, and provides direct clinical care, to include evaluation, treatment, prevention, rehabilitation, and therapeutic intervention of emergent, acute, and chronic athletic injuries and illnesses, and is qualified to make return-to-play decisions.
