Our client in the steel manufacturing industry is seeking an experienced Assistant Purchasing Manager to join their Procurement and Supply Chain team.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Purchasing, Supply Chain, Logistics, Procurement, or related field
• Minimum 5 years' procurement/purchasing experience
• Minimum 2 years' supervisory or senior buyer experience
• Experience in steel manufacturing, engineering, mining, or heavy industrial environments advantageous
• Strong negotiation, supplier management, and procurement planning skills
• ERP systems experience (SAP, Syspro, Sage, Oracle, etc.)

Responsibilities

• Procurement and sourcing of materials, spares, equipment, and services
• Supplier relationship and contract management
• Inventory planning and stock availability support
