Job Overview

The Department of Earth Sciences of the Faculty of Chemical Sciences at the University of Concepción, Chile, invites applications for a full-time Assistant Professor (44 hours) to join the Department.

Responsibilities

• Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in Geological Sciences, with a focus on Economic Geology or Engineering Geology.
• Develop and deliver curriculum in Spanish and certify proficiency for non-native speakers.
• Lead and manage research area at national or international level.
• Participate in faculty service and outreach/engagement activities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree (Licenciatura) or professional title of Geologist.
• PhD in Geological Sciences or equivalent.
• Experience in university‑level teaching in Geological Sciences, preferably Economic or Engineering Geology.
