:In this course students will explore advocacy and how the legal training they have received fits within multiple systems that impact meaningful access to justice. Using violence against women in intimate relationships as a case study, students will explore the systems women encounter as they attempt to escape violent relationships and what advocacy skills are necessary to assist women in that process. Students will be encouraged to develop critical and creative thinking skills to apply to this pervasive social problem in order to become effective, knowledgeable advocates.Posting limited to:
