Apprentice - Cabling Engineer

Responsibilities

• Installing new racks and cabling systems (copper Cat 6 and multimode fiber optic) according to specifications and industry standards. Decommissioning of redundant cabling systems and racks.
• Ensuring proper cable routing, organization, and termination to maintain a tidy and efficient data centre environment.
• Identifying and resolving issues with cabling infrastructure, including network connectivity problems.
• Conducting tests to ensure the quality and functionality of cabling systems and maintaining accurate documentation of the cabling infrastructure.
• Assisting with the installation and configuration of network equipment, including servers, switches, and other hardware. Decommissioning equipment when it is no longer in use.
• Monitoring the physical environment of the data centre, including temperature/airflow and power. Working with the Data Centre Engineering department to report issues and find solutions...
