About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Consultant Psychiatrist – Older Persons Mental Health to join a multidisciplinary team providing clinical care, treatment planning, and governance for consumers aged 65 + experiencing mental illness and cognitive disorders. The role spans inpatient and community settings within a large metropolitan health service.

Key responsibilities include:

• Comprehensive psychiatric assessments and ongoing management of older adults
• Clinical leadership and collaboration with GPs, aged care facilities, and internal teams
• Supervision and education of junior medical staff and registrars
• Compliance with the Mental Health Act and accurate documentation in electronic systems
• Preparation of clinical reports and participation in multidisciplinary meetings
