Summary This position is located in the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB), Office of Aviation Safety (OAS) in Washington, D.C. Participates, investigates, and directs engineering aspects of turbine and reciprocating engines, propellers, fuel systems, engine accessories, and auxiliary power units. Responsibilities As a Aerospace Engineer (Propulsion) - Direct Hire, GS-0861-14, you will perform the following major duties: Provides authoritative engineering expertise on turbine and reciprocating engines, propellers, fuel systems, engine accessories, and auxiliary power units' design, manufacturing, certification, and maintenance in the investigation of aircraft aviation accidents and incidents. Serves as Propulsion Group Chairperson on accidents and incidents investigated by the Safety Board. Leads special investigations and provides technical support for the Board.
