Job Overview

Reporting to the Manager, Program Delivery, the Advisor Seals and Sealing is responsible for the development and support of seal programs, targeted outreach and promotion, and the inventory management including grading, sale, invoicing, and shipping of seal skins, as well as all other sealing sector initiatives in Nunavut.

The Advisor is the Division’s lead for networking with Inuit organizations within and outside the territory to advance the needs of Nunavummiut in the sealing industry.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead delivery, promotion, inventory, distribution, pickup, and shipping of Qisiapiit (dressed sealskins for Nunavummiut) and serve as a resource to wildlife officers and others with seal program questions.
• Steward, maintain, and repair the Sealskin Garment Collection, schedule cleaning, and document additions or retirements.
