Advanced Practice Provider, Palliative Care

The Palliative Care Advanced Practice Provider (APP), including Advanced Practice Registered Nurses (APRNs) and Physician Assistants (PAs), is an integral member of the interdisciplinary palliative care team. The APP is responsible for providing comprehensive, compassionate care to patients with serious, life-limiting illnesses in inpatient settings. Responsibilities include assessment, diagnosis, symptom management, and development of care plans within the APP’s scope of practice.

The APP collaborates closely with physicians, residents, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure high-quality, patient-centered care that emphasizes symptom relief and alignment of care with patient and family goals.
