Job Description
SUMMARY
The NST APP assists leads the enteral access team which manages consults for enteral access placement to recommend and coordinate placement for long term enteral access – this includes DHT, surgical g tubes, g-j tubes, and coordination of care with other enteral access teams. (IR, GI) Conducts and documents comprehensive initial and ongoing physical examinations based on age and diagnosis, including psychological status. The NST APP will assist with minor inpatient and outpatient procedures including tube care, DHT placement, and g-tube exchanges. Provides relevant management, referrals, counseling, and education to patients, families, and caregivers related to current care and preventive health measures. Facilitates/participates in quality related initiatives and/or clinical research protocols through planned group processes, workshops, seminars, and staff meetings, to improve clinical and system practice performance.
