ACCOUNTANT

Summary You will serve as an ACCOUNTANT within NAVAL SYSTEMS MANAGEMENT ACTIVITY. This position is in the excepted service and does not confer competitive status. Responsibilities You will analyze, reconcile, and maintain financial accounts and records to ensure accurate reporting and compliance with Federal accounting standards and Department of War policies. You will prepare, review, and validate financial reports, identify discrepancies, and recommend corrective actions to improve the accuracy and reliability of financial date. You will use automated financial systems to research accounting data, resolve systems issues, and coordinate with stakeholders to improve financial operations and reporting. You will support internal and external audits by preparing documentation, responding to audit requests, and assisting with corrective actions to address audit finding.
