Role Summary

• The Bed Booking Clerk is responsible for the booking of beds for all internal and external bookings, monitoring and controlling patient beds within the hospital.
• Ensuring that all problems experienced regarding patients’ accommodation are resolved.
• The incumbent will be reporting directly to the Nursing Service Manager.

Key Work Output and Accountabilities

• Allocate all outstanding bookings from previous day.
• Take bookings from doctors’ rooms
• Booking patients into correct wards according to doctor’s preference.
• Telephone etiquette.
• Enter all bookings into bed bookings file and allocate beds.
• Allocate all beds for ward transfers.
• Compile and distribute theatre lists.
• Keep up to date with the Hospitals evolving policies and procedures.
