Job Description

SEN 1:1 Teaching Assistant – High Needs Support

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a child with high and complex needs in a welcoming school in Colchester.
The successful candidate will provide individualised, one-to-one support throughout the school day, working closely with the class teacher and wider support team to ensure the child’s safety, wellbeing, and access to learning.
Key Responsibilities:

Providing consistent 1:1 support for a child with high SEN needs
Supporting with PEG feeding (training can be provided if required)
Assisting with personal care in a respectful and dignified manner
Supporting communication, emotional regulation, and engagement in learning
Maintaining a calm, safe, and nurturing environment at all times
